Hyderabad: Another heart-wrenching drowning tragedy struck Andhra Pradesh this time in Eluru district claiming three lives in Komatigunta lake under Bhimadole mandal. The incident comes barely days after five boys drowned in Annamayya district.

The victims Ajay, Abhilash, and Sagar, all from Vegivada village in Pedavegi mandal were returning from a function in Pedalingampadu when the group stopped by the lake to relieve themselves. Three of them entered the water and, in a tragic turn, never came back up.

Locals raised the alarm and police rushed to the spot. Search operations were launched with community help, and the bodies were eventually recovered and sent for post-mortem.

A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
