Hyderabad Rains

Hyderabad: Parts of Hyderabad’s outskirts witnessed rainfall on Sunday evening, with areas like Rajendranagar, Attapur, and Mailardevpally in Ranga Reddy district receiving showers. The change in weather marked a continuation of the erratic patterns seen across Telangana – sunny mornings followed by gusty winds and rainfall in the evening. Hyderabad rains have disrupted the normal life in some areas.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that these conditions are expected to persist for the next four days. Light to moderate rain is likely in some districts today, tomorrow, and the day after.

Over the next three days, maximum daytime temperatures across the state may drop by 2–3°C below normal. According to IMD’s update, a mix of thunder, lightning, and winds blowing at 30–40 km/h is expected to accompany the rain in several areas today.

The districts likely to receive moderate rainfall today include Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal.

For Monday, IMD forecasts scattered thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40–50 km/h) in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, and Kamareddy.
