Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Thursday lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their decisive action in targeting and destroying Pakistan-based terror camps. He said the Centre had responded appropriately to Pakistan’s continued provocations, adding that the military’s efforts deserved the nation’s full appreciation.
Marking his birthday, Prabhakar offered prayers at the Sri Renuka Yellamma Temple, seeking blessings for strength and guidance in public service. Speaking to the media after the visit, he criticised Pakistan for its lack of restraint even after Operation Sindoor, calling its ongoing provocations “unacceptable”.
He underlined that the Congress Working Committee stands fully behind the central government’s national security decisions, setting aside politics in favour of national interest.
Assuring citizens of Telangana, Prabhakar said there was no cause for alarm. “The government and security agencies are alert and equipped to deal with any threat,” he said.
Speaking about his role as Hyderabad’s in-charge minister, Prabhakar said he’s been in constant touch with local police and revenue teams, more so because of the presence of key defence establishments in the city. He asked people to be alert and not hesitate to inform authorities if they come across anything out of the ordinary.
He also had a word of caution for those spreading unverified news online. He said those who circulate messages that spark fear or disturb public order would face consequences. “It’s not just careless — it puts lives at risk. If anyone tries to stir up trouble with fake posts, we’ll act firmly,” he said.
Before concluding, Prabhakar took a moment to thank the people for standing by him, saying their support keeps him going. He said their trust — along with divine grace — gave him the strength to push ahead with development works in every corner of the constituency.
