HYDERABAD: A dramatic incident involving a Telangana RTC bus has gone viral after a woman chased a bus for nearly 10 kilometres, alleging it left her and her children behind while boarding. The confrontation, which took place at Uppal X Road, has raised new questions about the execution of the Mahalakshmi free bus travel scheme.
According to the woman, she regularly boards the bus from Uppal along with her children. She claimed that as some passengers were alighting, others began boarding, and she followed suit. However, while she managed to get on the bus, it allegedly started moving before her children could board.
Despite her cries to halt, the driver allegedly continued driving, forcing her to disembark in panic—at which point she reportedly fell from the bus. She claimed that instead of helping, the bus crew verbally abused her.
In response, the conductor said the bus had already started moving when the woman tried to get down and that she was lucky not to fall under the wheels. The official version suggested the incident was a close call but not a case of deliberate negligence.
The woman eventually followed the bus for 10 kilometres before confronting the driver and conductor. The video of this heated exchange has since gone viral on social media, adding to the growing list of public grievances being aired in the wake of the Mahalakshmi scheme’s implementation.
