Delhi, February 1: In the Union Budget 2025-26 presented on Saturday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the introduction of UPI-linked credit cards with a limit of ₹30,000, aimed at providing financial support to the urban poor.
This initiative seeks to offer economic security to urban low-income groups. The government’s decision aligns with the increasing prevalence of UPI payments over traditional card transactions in the digital era.
Additionally, the Finance Minister declared an increase in the Kisan Credit Card limit from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh, aiming to further support the agricultural sector.
