HYDERABAD: A major accident was narrowly avoided in Telangana’s Medak district when a private bus lost both its front wheels moments after crossing the Haldi Vagu canal near Tiopranal area.
According to eyewitnesses, the front wheels suddenly detached from the vehicle as soon as it crossed the canal, causing the bus to veer out of control and crash into a roadside divider. Several passengers were on board at the time, with a number of them sustaining minor injuries.
The injured were promptly shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition. The alertness and quick reaction of the bus driver are being credited with preventing a more serious mishap.
Police reached the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection, with initial findings pointing to a possible technical fault or negligence in vehicle maintenance as the cause. A detailed investigation into the incident is currently underway.
