HYDERABAD: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana and sitting MLA Kadiyam Srihari has said that the Bhu Bharathi Bill will mark the end of the previous government’s land encroachment policies, bringing much-needed relief and justice to rightful landowners.
Speaking on the issue, Srihari alleged that during the BRS regime, illegal land occupations and fraudulent practices were widespread. He said the new Bhu Bharathi Bill offers a solution to these issues and will help restore land rights to their legitimate owners.
Srihari stated that the bill is designed to curb unlawful land grabs, which had become rampant under the previous administration. “The Bhu Bharathi Bill will ensure that such illegal activities are stopped and that people get back what is rightfully theirs,” he said.
He also criticised the Dharani portal introduced by the former government, claiming it introduced irregularities into land records, creating severe challenges for farmers. According to him, the Bhu Bharathi Bill will address these shortcomings and bring transparency and accuracy to land documentation.
Highlighting the bill’s benefits for the farming community, Srihari said that it would safeguard the rights of farmers and empower them with full control over their lands. He welcomed the government’s move, stating it would go a long way in restoring the confidence of farmers across the state.
Srihari described the Bhu Bharathi Bill as a progressive step towards transparent governance and land justice in Telangana.
