HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao has accused the state government of failing to honour its promise of implementing the Congress six guarantees within 100 days of coming to power in Telangana.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan during the induction of new members into the BRS, KTR said that the Congress administration had failed to gain the trust of the public and had already fallen short of its commitments. He stressed that governance is judged by action, not promises, and said the people recognise and remember good leadership.
Referring to former leaders Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and N. Chandrababu Naidu, KTR said their impactful work lives on in public memory. He added that even former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao chose to continue beneficial schemes of previous governments, while the Revanth Reddy-led administration is trying to erase those welfare initiatives, calling it an uncivilised approach.
He said the real loss in the last elections was not just for the BRS but for the social fabric of Telangana, and asserted that returning KCR to power is not merely a political aim but a historic need for the state.
Addressing the recent Assembly election results, KTR noted that despite the tall claims of both Congress and BJP, neither gained support in areas within the Outer Ring Road (ORR). He said Congress did not win a single seat within the ORR limits, and BJP’s win in Goshamahal was only due to a lack of assertiveness from the BRS candidate.
KTR reiterated that the failure to implement the Congress six guarantees reflects a broken promise and a betrayal of the people’s trust.
